Registering through Fair Entry makes it easy to enter State Horse Show (SHS) classes for one rider or a whole family, and this year includes an integrated credit or debit card payment option.

Thursday: 4:00pm Check In & Open Riding

Friday: 1:00pm Showmanship, 5:30pm Dinner, 6:00pm Reining

Saturday: 8:00am Western Classes, Bareback, Colt to Maturity, Driving, English

Sunday: 8:30am Trail

Entry Cost: $50 non-refundable fee, plus $10 per class, per contestant

Required Forms: There are 3 required forms for exhibitors and horses which may be downloaded below

  1. Media Release Form (for each exhibitor from Z-Suite)
  2. Medical Form (for each exhibitor from Z-Suite)
  3. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (for each horse)

***You must bring these completed forms to Check-In or email in advance to Sadie Woller, sadie.woller@montana.edu in order to compete. Horses without a valid CVI will not be allowed on the premises.


Cancellation Policy: There is a $50 non-refundable fee, and the 3% credit/debit card fee is also non-refundable. All cancellations and class drops must be documented before August 29, 2025, to receive a full refund. Refund requests must be submitted using the cancellation form available on the Montana 4-H State Horse Show website. All refunds will be processed after the event. Credit/debit card refunds will be issued within 2–3 business days, while check refunds may take up to two weeks. After August 29, refund requests will only be considered in extreme cases.


Important Rule and Announcements for 2025 Montana 4-H State Horse Show

  1. All Level 1 riders will be allowed to use two hands All Level 1 is Walk/Trot.
  2. Please refer to the Montana 4-H Horse Program : Bit Rules and Equipment Guide for approved tack found on our website.
  3. Members will be allowed to bring up to 3 horses.
  4. We will be verifying all registrations with county agents to confirm participants have registered for the correct classes.

Accommodations:

Indoor stalls, outdoor covered stalls, and RV or dry camping sites will be available. There are multiple hotel lodging options in Great Falls (DISCOUNTED HOTEL). Spots and stalls are available on a first come first serve basis.

Stall Outdoor: 20 per day*

Indoor Stall: $30 per day*

RV w/electric hookups: $25 per day

Dry camping is also available at no cost

*We will be collecting a $20 deposit for stalls (cash or check) upon arrival, the deposit will be returned once the stall has been cleaned and checked out at the end of the show.


Hotel: The Crystal Inn Hotel in Great Falls is offering discounted rates for all families, friends, and participants of the Montana 4-H Working Ranch Horse Finals. The Crystal Inn offers easy high access, trailer parking, hot breakfast, a pool, and is pet friendly (pet fee applies).

Meals & T-Shirts:

Members may also purchase a Montana 4-H State Horse Show t-shirt at the cost of $15 each. Please designate size(s) when you register. Additional shirts will not be available at the show.

On Saturday night, Cascade County 4-H will be hosting a dinner. Tickets for dinner can be purchased for $6 each.


How to Enter Classes in Fair Entry

  1. Login Fair Entry, if it is your first time you will need to create a new login.

  2. Register a new exhibitor. After you enter your Exhibitor, you add entries by clicking the green ADD ENTRY button. Classes are separated by divisions, please make sure to SELECT ALL CLASSES within the division.

  3. Make sure to add your horse to all your divisions. You can add a horse by clicking the blue "Add Horse" button on the left and filling out the required information.
  4. If you need to register another participant, go back to the Exhibitor tab and click "Add Exhibitor"
  5. PLEASE WRITE DOWN YOUR INVOICE NUMBER BEFORE PAYMENT. You will be redirected to a MSU Website for payment which will ask for your FairEntry invoice number and the name of the registered member.
  6. After completing registration, please pay by using a credit/debit card. The State will approve all registrations. IF changes need to be made to the registration by the State (entered wrong class, entered wrong level, etc.) refunds will be processed.
